Interactive POS
General
ASSIST Interactive Point Of Sale (POS) is a solution for
both internet shops and offline shops. In case of internet
shop it allows to set up a work place for credit card payments
operator. When used in offline store it would be a good
replacement of a regular POS machine for more modern payment
terminal.
Interactive POS comprises a PC with a keyboard that might
have a reader slot, Assist Desktop software
and a reader as an option. AssistDesktop
is a freeware designed for shops connected to ASSIST.
AssistDesktop shall be installed on PC,
either at credit card operator work place or cashier counter.
The software will allow to gain all information on credit
card transactions in more efficient and convenient way compared
to a standard web-interface. It will also provide MUCH more
information than a regular POS. In addition to that it will
facilitate serving customers and checking credit card data
in an easy way.
Helps to cut down on fraud right the moment when customer
is at the counter. When used in an internet shop gives all
data for fraud screening resulting in charge backs losses
reduction.
AssistDesktop when reading the card can use both
magnetic strip swipe and manual keyboard input. All leading
producers of readers are supported. A receipt can be priinted
for signing by the cardholder. The reader connected to PC
with installed AssistDesktop can swipe
Assist®ID cards.
All together it brings more possibilities to manage clients
and sales.
Security
AssistDesktop talks with ASSIST through a specialised interface
by the way of SSL protocol which eleminates the risk of
breaking through the system or unauthorised access.
AssistDesktop's functionality
- Credit card transactions with manual data input using
the keyboard;
- Credit card transactions using the second magnetic
strip
(provided that the PC has a reader connected to it);
- Getting cardholder information from ASSIST server provided
that the cardholder is registered with ASSIST or purchased
earlier paying through ASSIST;
- Processing transactions data locally without requesting
ASSIST servers.
